GENERAL - Fundraising Committee

In addition to giving regular tithe and offerings, our Willowdale Church family has the privilege of maintaining our church building, a facility used for weekly worship services and community outreach programs. Our church - like a house - needs ongoing maintenance and modifications to accommodate expanded and future needs of our church family. Supporting the significant maintenance and modification costs requires funds over and above ongoing operating expenses. To raise the funds required for the anticipated expenses, the church has appointed a committee to coordinate fundraising activities. The committee's role is to develop interesting and fun initiatives that will engage as many of our church family as possible.

Our short-term focus is to raise funds to cover the costs for replacing the roof, renovations to the sanctuary and a number of other significant repairs to the building structure. These renovations and repairs will make the facility a more pleasant and inviting place of worship.

To date, our church family has participated in banquets and auctions designed to raise funds and provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy fun and fellowship outside the regularly scheduled church worship programs.

Presently the committee is in the process of assembling and publishing a cookbook featuring favourite, healthy, vegetarian recipes from our church family. Everyone is invited to submit a favorite recipe, or several. We plan to launch the cookbook at our upcoming fall banquet scheduled for November 6th 2005.
